"Gimel" is the third letter in the Hebrew alphabet.

The word Gimel is derived from the word "gemul," which in Hebrew means giving.

Three is a cardinal number in Judaism:
Our Forefathers: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Three divisions of Jewish souls: The Kohen, Levi and Yisrael.
"Three bonds are bounded together: Israel, Torah, and G-d." - Zohar
